ARCHITECTURE: NEW PERSPECTIVES

A series of photographs that reinterprets the ‘upward thrust’ of architecture and challenges the perceptual experience of the wall plane. Holligan utilises a square format camera, selectively framing and adjusting the angles, to create architectural spaces of indeterminate scale and boundary. This unconventional approach transforms the meaning of materials and redefines the formal language of buildings, where the functionality is ambiguous yet the vocabulary of architecture remains.
